“ You get this diagnosis and your world closes in and you feel like, are we the only ones? Then The ALS Association comes in and opens a door and a whole community floods in.”

 A TRIBUTE TO OUR FRIENDS
A Tribute to our Friends gives us an opportunity to connect with one another and recognize an individual with the David Grimshaw Beacon of Light Award. This is given to honor activists who “give of themselves in pursuit of the dream we all share: A World Without ALS.”
It was with great pride that we awarded Brian Savo
with the Beacon of Light Award. Brian is a father of two, husband, business owner, ALSA-CT Board Member, part of the ALS Advocacy Team, and has been living with ALS for over 10 years. We are so grateful for Brian’s spirit and tireless advocacy for the cause.
The event was inspiring and impactful, and recognized all we are able to accomplish together as the ALS Community. Brian Savo challenged all of us to use our voice to fight this disease until we realize our vision of a world without ALS. We hope that you will join us in accepting his challenge.
 LOU GEHRIG DAY
June 2nd, 2021 was the inaugural Lou Gehrig Day, a day to honor Lou Gehrig’s legacy and spread ALS Awareness. The Lou Gehrig Day Committee, made up of people
with ALS, caregivers, and families with ALS successfully engaged Major League Baseball (MLB) to participate each year. In Connecticut, we are proud to partner with the Hartford Yard Goats to recognize the Iron Horse and bring awareness here in our state!
