“ I just wanted to thank you so much for helping to set up the wheelchair accessible van rental for us this past weekend. As I said, it was my sister and I’s birthday last Saturday and the van rental was a surprise to my parents. They were both thrilled, and my mom was so happy she cried. We were able to get out and do some family things just like the “old days,” and for that we are all extremely grateful. I truly cannot express to you how appreciative I am for your assistance in getting the van and for all that you have done thus far for my family.”

 TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
 665 ONE WAY RIDES
 29 SHORT TERM VAN RENTALS
The Transportation Program provides accessible rides for pALS to attend medical appointments and social outings through curb to curb service or short term van rentals. In 2021, we helped coordinate rides to weddings, the Big E, a music festival, and COVID-19 vaccine appointments, to name a few.
This year, we saw an increased need and usage for our transportation services as the COVID-19 positivity rates declined and people’s need to engage with their community and families became stronger than ever. Through our partnership with Coordinated Transportation Services (CTS), we provided 665 rides and through our van rental vendors, 29 short term rentals. This is compared to 356 rides in 2020 and 6 van rentals, and 362 rides in 2019 and 3 van rentals.
