 CARE ASSIST GRANTS
Care Assist Grants help with extraordinary costs not covered by insurance. Care Assist Grants are available once a year as a financial reimbursement for various needs not covered by health insurance or other resources.
In 2021, many Care Assist Grants were used for ramps and/or stairlifts that make a home more accessible. Other uses include home modifications (like making a bathroom accessible), durable medical equipment not covered by insurance, respite assistance on an emergency basis, specific assistance for families with young children and other uses.
14% of our pALS took advantage of a Care Assist Grant in 2021.
“ I wanted to thank you and the ALS Association of CT for the loan of the wheelchair over the past few months. It made an incredible difference in Jane’s quality of
life since it allowed us to make doctor appointments and also participate in major life events such as our daughter’s wedding.”
