 PROGRAMS & COMMUNITY EVENTS
  COPING WITH THE HOLIDAYS
The Holidays can be difficult for many, especially after losing a loved one to ALS. The Connecticut Chapter offers a “Coping with the Holidays” program in early December to provide guidance for approaching traditions and changes. This program is an opportunity for families to prepare for the holidays and connect with one another.
“ On a personal note, thank you, too, for all the Zoom calls and information that you share. It means a lot to us, and I feel as though both of us can maneuver through whatever comes our way. The months after his diagnosis were a little emotional, and, quite honestly, I felt very grief stricken and afraid. I still am, at times. But it gives me comfort to know that we are not alone in this. I admire all those I’ve met on the Zoom calls...they seem so confident and brave. Hopefully we will get to that point, too.”

CAREGIVER’S MONTH
Each November, our Chapter offers therapeutic programs and specialty activities for National Family Caregiver’s Month. These activities, sponsored by Drazen Rubin Law, provide respite, comfort, and support to those who are tirelessly caring for their loved ones with ALS. Activities include yoga, guided meditation, specialty support groups, an Ask the Doc for young adult caregivers, and a one-year subscription to the Headspace meditation App. We are so grateful for our incredibly strong caregivers and the opportunity to recognize them in November.
